We’re selling our house and the buyers were pre-approved. Do we, the sellers, pay this year’s taxes or do the buyers?

The answer to that question is up to the buyer and seller.

Generally, the buyer and seller specify which party will pay the taxes, and most times that agreement is made part of the property’s purchase agreement. Sometimes that agreement is even made part of the deed.
