About Plan Requirements

Project plans, specifications and reports provide the Building Commission with all of the details about the scope, extent, location and type of construction that is being undertaken.  Also, the information must be provided at a scale and format that allows the Building Commission, the owner, contractors and Building Commission inspector a clear understanding of what is being done and how it is designed to be constructed.  Generally, the Building Commission reviews plans and specifications for compliance with local and state building codes and requirements before permits are issued.
