Forward Together Grants

Mayor Terry

Earlier this year, Mayor Stephanie Terry created the Forward Together Grant Fund - a $500,000 fund that will be used to support eligible nonprofits organizations in Evansville.

Organizations were able to apply for up to $35,000 to fund programs focused on one the the following categories:

● Affordable Housing
● Mental Health/Addiction
● Food Assistance
● Job Training
● Youth Development
● Internet Access
● Childcare Access
● Resource Navigation Assistance
● Homeless Services
● Neighborhood Revitalization

The funds awarded by this grant may be used to fund payroll and benefit costs, utilities, rent, insurance, and other operating costs. In order to be eligible for funding from the Forward Together Grant Fund, organizations must be a City of Evansville organization or provide direct services to Evansville residents and must have been registered as a 501(c)(3) organization with a Board of Directors for at least 3 years.

Funding for the Forward Together Grant Fund comes from undisbursed funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). $27 million undisbursed from the ARPA earned $2,757,420 in interest.

The funding from this grant allows nonprofits to continue their meaningful work in strengthening neighborhoods and providing pathways out of poverty for Evansville residents. The recipients for these funds are expected to be announced in early 2025.
