The Statewide Voter Registration System was developed to meet the major requirements set by HAVA.  SVRS interacts with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Indiana State Department of Health, and Indiana State Department of Correction.

Major HAVA requirements on SVRS:

1. All voters be registered
2. Central, statewide, voter registration database maintained at the state level
3. Coordinate voter information with:
   * BMV - Drivers License
   * BMV and SSA - Social Security
   * DOH - Death
   * DOC - Incarceration
4. SVRS must be deployed in all 92 counties by January 1, 2006.
