INDOT Map Showing County Maintained Roads
The Indiana Department of Transportation also has a map that shows city and county maintained roads. The INDOT map can be viewed at the following link:
The map will open by showing the Indianapolis area. In order to move the map to the Evansville – Vanderburgh County area, type Vanderburgh in the blue search box. Once the map moves to Vanderburgh County, city streets will be shown with blue lines, and county roads are shown with gold lines. If a street is not shown with either a blue line or a gold line, that means the street is not maintained by either the city or the county. Vanderburgh County assumes no responsibility for the accuracy of the data shown in the INDOT map. So if there are any questions regarding the maintenance status any of the county roads, please call the County Engineering Department at 812-435-5773. The staff of the engineering department should be able to confirm whether a road is or is not maintained by Vanderburgh County.
Signs and Striping
If a road sign is damaged or missing, or if the striping on a road needs to be repainted, please contact the Traffic Engineering Department at 812-435-6003.

Each year, the Vanderburgh County Commissioners hold a road hearing in order to solicit input from county residents in regard to needed road repairs and paving requests. These hearings include a presentation that includes a list of potential road repair projects as determined by the staff of the County Highway Department and the County Engineering Department. The current presentation can be viewed at the following link:
The information received at the road hearing, combined with staff recommendations, a review of the pavement condition ratings, and the available funding are then used to determine the County's road repair plan for the year.
Completed Projects
After the annual road repair plan is developed, the projects are completed by the staff of the Vanderburgh County Highway Department, or through contracts overseen by the Vanderburgh County Engineering Department. A map of the completed projects can be viewed at the following link:
