The County Surveyor is an ex-officio and a non-voting member of the County Drainage Board, and is the technical authority on the construction, reconstruction, and maintenance of all regulated drains or proposed regulated drains in the county.

The Vanderburgh County Drainage Board's minutes are published on the Vanderburgh County Auditor's Website. The Drainage Board meetings as well as minutes for meetings after 2015 can be viewed online through AccessEVC. The minutes that may be missing from 2020 & 2021during the Covid outbreak may be found here.

The agenda for the Drainage Board is posted at noon on the day before the meeting. Drainage plans must be submitted a minimum of two weeks prior to the date of the meeting. All Encroachment Agreements must be submitted in a timely manner in order to be heard before the board.
