An annual recreational fire permit can be issued to City residents at no cost for backyard recreational fires.

An annual permit will allow the resident to have a recreational fire without having to receive prior approval from this office each event.

All permit holders must follow all open burning regulations.

Annual Recreational Open Burning Permit holders are responsible for the renewal of the permit.

New and current permit holders can submit a request to climate@evansville.in.gov or call (812) 435-6145 to receive a permit.  Please allow at least 3 business days advance notice before your intended burn date.
