Where can I view the meeting agenda?
The agenda is the sequence of items for a meeting based on the City Council’s Order of Business. The agenda is posted Thursday before Monday’s Council meeting online on the AccessEVC site and on the door of the City Clerk’s Office, room 314 of the Civic Center and is subject to change prior to City Council meeting start time. The official agenda will be posted on the door of Council Chambers before the meeting’s start time.

Understanding the agenda and the order of business.
INTRODUCTION. The president of City Council calls the meeting to order. A roll call of attendance is conducted by the City Clerk. A majority of all councilmembers’ attendance is required to establish a quorum (five of the nine members present) and to conduct official business. If it is determined a quorum is present, the President will officially call the meeting to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MEETING MEMORANDA. A motion is entertained to approve the meeting memoranda of the previous meeting. If approved, the memorandum is signed and becomes the official record of the meeting.
REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS. The City Clerk announces written reports filed by City officials and other communications from members of the public for consideration to make part of the official record.
SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY. Any special items to be considered by City Council will be discussed during this agenda item. This may include a suspension of the rules, a petitioner’s request to withdraw an ordinance or resolution, or annual housekeeping items.
CONSENT AGENDA: FIRST READING OF ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. A routine part of the agenda which is typically approved without discussion. The City Clerk will introduce each item by their number and title by the City Clerk. There will be no separate discussion or action of these items unless requested by a City Councilmember. Items listed here may be referred to a separate committee meeting to consider and report thereon at the request of any Councilmember.
COMMITTEE REPORTS. If any committee meetings were conducted, committee chairs will make a report on any items reviewed by the committee. A vote on whether to accept the committee reports shall be taken before further discussion.
REGULAR AGENDA: SECOND READING OF ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. Final action. Items listed under this heading are being considered for final action and result in an ordinance or resolution that is passed, withdrawn, or denied. In some instances, items are tabled for a later date. Items under Second Reading will have a public hearing or discussion among City Council members and members of the public.
RESOLUTION DOCKET. A resolution may be passed at the same meeting as it is introduced as part of the Resolution Docket unless required by law or requested otherwise by a City Councilmember. Discussion for each item will occur after its reading by the City Clerk. Council President will call for a vote for each item.
COMMITTEE REPORTS. If any items have been referred to committee, the committee chair will announce the scheduled committee time or public hearing for each item.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS. Announcements, presentations, reports, board appointments and public comment may occur during this time. The Presiding Officer will recognize a period of time for all present at the Council meetings to provide a report. Prior to comments, the Presiding Officer may impose a time limit for each speaker.
ADJOURNMENT. Formal closing of the meeting session.

Both codified and non-codified ordinances and resolutions are now available online and are searchable. Currently, documents adopted from 1980 – current are accessible online. Hosting is serviced by Code Publishing Company who also publishes the Evansville Municipal Code thus providing a seamless incorporation of links to codified documents in the code reference.
