Neighborhoods
The Department operates numerous programs that directly serve the Focus neighborhoods and low income community.
Focus Neighborhood Council:
The DMD staff has continued monthly meetings with the neighborhood presidents from the Focus Area.
Neighborhood Bill of Rights:
In 1998, 22 neighborhoods registered with DMD to be recognized under Ordinance G-98-14. Otherwise known as the Neighborhood Bill of Rights, the ordinance assures registered neighborhoods will be notified of zoning and variance activity within their boundaries. This official notification procedure allows neighborhood associations to be more actively involved in the decisions that will affect the fabric of their area.
