METS Mobility Paratransit Service
"ADA Paratransit" Service is a service that METS provides to individuals who, because of a disability, are prevented from using our fixed route service. This might include not being able to get to or from bus stops, not being able to get on or off the buses, or not being able to understand how to ride and use the bus system.
METS will provide service to persons determined "ADA Paratransit Eligible", for those trips that cannot be make using the fixed route service. You may, for example, be able to use fixed route bus service for some trips if stops are nearby and there are no barriers which prevent you from getting to and from the bus. At other times you might not be able to get to and use the buses.
There are two types of "ADA Paratransit" eligibility:
- Unconditional - this eligibility is granted if your disability prevents you from using fixed route service for any trips that you might need to take.
- Conditional - this eligibility is granted if you can use fixed route service under certain circumstances, but need van service for certain trips.
METS also provides a "County Service" eligibility:
- County Service - for county residents that are 65 years or older and/or disabled individuals who live outside the city corporate limits but within Vanderburgh county limits.
Fare structure per one-way trip. Fare is dependent on eligibility status.
- ADA - $1.50
- Convenience - $3.00
- County - $5.00
Ride cards are also available.
- ADA - $15 (10 rides)
- Convenience - $30 (10 rides)
- County - $50.00 (10 rides)
Fares are payable when boarding.
