License Renewal

Please mail all checks for license renewals to the Vanderburgh County Building Commission, 1 NW Martin Luther King Blvd #310, Evansville, IN 47708.  Attention to Cathy Evenson, the license clerk.  Please also include your license number when mailing the check if you are not paying cash in the office. 

We do not accept card payments at this time.

Items needed for license renewals:

• Certificate of Insurance 
• Workman's Compensation (if applicable)
• $25,000 Bond - Surety/ Performance bond.
• Continuing Education Certificate or list showing contractor's name. (3 hours per year)
• Check, money order, or cash (if paying by cash try to have exact amount)
• Please update your information - address, phone number, and email address.  

About our license program

Our contractor and tradesman license program assures work contracted out is done by qualified licensed professionals. Contact the Building Commission to complete the Licensing Process by visiting our office, calling 812-436-7880, or emailing the License Clerk. 

License Process

Exam scores are reviewed by the Licensing and Disciplinary Board on the fourth Thursday of the month for final approval of license.

Applicant must have the license fee in check or cash form. At present, we cannot accept debit or credit cards for payment. Make checks payable to the Building Commission.
