One of Mayor Winnecke's Initiatives: A Community Partnership with Keep Evansville Beautiful
Check out the Clean Evansville website for the latest events
The Clean Evansville anti-litter campaign is a joint effort between the City of Evansville and Keep Evansville Beautiful with volunteer members of the "Clean Committee." The goal is to involve the entire community in picking up trash in targeted areas every month.
The first Saturday of every month Mayor Winnecke meets with volunteers at a predetermined location and hands out trash bags and gloves donated by local businesses. The Mayor and teams walk to their assigned areas and pick-up trash for two hours. When finished, the teams meet back at the staging area and dumps the trash they gathered into dumpsters donated by Republic Services.
