Homeless Prevention Guidelines
established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development

Target Clients:

  1. Renters who reside in Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Gibson County
  2. At imminent risk of losing rental housing (within 7-10 days)
  3. Without resources to stay in current housing or secure new housing
  4. Able to maintain stable housing in a short amount of time
  5. At or below 50% of Area Median Income:
    • Family of four $30,450 or below
    • Family of two $24,350 or below
    • Individual $21,300

Rapid Re-Housing Guidelines

Target Clients:


  1. Renters who reside in Evansville
  2. Fit the Federal definition of homeless (living on streets, in an emergency shelter or exiting/timing out of a transitional housing program)
  3. Without resources to secure housing
  4. Able to become stable in housing in a short amount of time
  5. At or below 50% of Area Median Income:
    • Family of four $30,450 or below
    • Family of two $24,350 or below
    • Individual $21,300
